Container Houses Canada provides a one-year limited conventional warranty on covered components of products supplied by CHC, subject to the terms below and the project-specific documents provided with your order.

Warranty period

The CHC conventional warranty period begins on the documented delivery date unless a different written warranty period is stated in your official quotation, invoice, product warranty document or purchase agreement.

What the CHC conventional warranty covers

For an approved claim involving a covered component that fails under normal use during the applicable warranty period, CHC will review the issue and confirm the appropriate warranty response. Unless your project documents state otherwise, the conventional warranty is primarily a parts warranty and may include:

• assessment of the reported defect photographs, video, documents or other information reasonably required to evaluate the claim;
• technical guidance for replacement of an approved defective component;
• shipment of an approved replacement part without a separate replacement-part shipping charge, where this remedy is applicable.

On-site labour, third-party contractor charges, equipment rental, crane work, access costs and other installation expenses are not included in the CHC conventional warranty unless expressly stated in writing or required by applicable law.

Delivery, placement and installation

Products are inspected and prepared for transport before shipment. Delivery and final placement are different stages. Damage caused after delivery by lifting, crane operations, site movement, foundation placement, assembly, utility connection or work performed by third parties is not treated as a manufacturing defect under the CHC conventional warranty.

Site preparation, foundations, electrical work, plumbing, sewage connections, heating systems and other regulated work should be performed in accordance with the requirements that apply to the project location and by appropriately qualified professionals where required.

Common exclusions from the conventional warranty

Subject to applicable law and the written documents for your specific order, the CHC conventional warranty does not cover problems caused by:

• accident, misuse, abuse, neglect or abnormal use;
• damage during final positioning, installation or work performed after delivery;
• unauthorized structural alteration or repair;
• incorrect electrical, plumbing, drainage or utility connections;
• failure to follow supplied installation, operating or maintenance instructions;
• normal wear, cosmetic deterioration or maintenance items that are not defects in material or workmanship;
• site conditions or events outside the product itself, including flooding, impact, fire, severe weather or other external causes.

How to submit a warranty claim

1. Contact Container Houses Canada as soon as reasonably possible after discovering the problem.
2. Provide the order or invoice number, product/model information, a clear description of the issue, and photographs or video when useful.
3. Do not authorize major repairs or modifications intended to be claimed under the conventional warranty before CHC has had a reasonable opportunity to review the issue, except where urgent action is reasonably necessary for safety or to prevent further damage.
4. CHC will review the information and advise whether additional documentation, inspection, troubleshooting, replacement parts or another response is appropriate.

Your legal rights are not replaced by this warranty

This one-year CHC conventional warranty is in addition to any mandatory legal warranties or consumer rights that apply to the transaction. It does not exclude, restrict or replace rights that cannot legally be waived.

For Québec consumers, legal warranties can include warranties of normal use, reasonable durability and protection against hidden defects. Model-specific coverage, specifications and any additional commercial warranty commitments should be confirmed in the official quotation, invoice, warranty document or purchase agreement for the order. If those documents provide greater conventional warranty coverage than this general webpage, the written project-specific terms apply, subject always to mandatory law.
